My Minds Eye

Friday night I decided to pull my finger out and create a layout for little Miss Ava for her 1st birthday.  She is the most adorable little girl and Bonnie is like my own daughter too.  Bonnie and my daughter Danielle are best friends and have been for 6 years now.  So since Ava would have so many toys and beautiful clothes... I decided to make this and put it onto a canvas and will be posting it down to them.

I love the paper collection of My Minds Eye - Find Your Wings and Fly. Soo  so feminine.
I love the collection of the Chipboard Elements too.. They are so pretty and add perfect dimension to the layout.

I have added one of Ali Edwards beautiful digital script words to the photo... Love them.

A lovely my2angels charm that I have cherished in my stash for ages.. Finally got to use it on something very special.

Thanks for popping in.  I am off to finish Week 20 Project Life style (LOL) tonight. I have my lovely friend Monika here tonight who is doing beading next to me and cutting out printables for Project Life. Such good fun.

Brisbane Paper Craft Show Weekend away

Last weekend my great friend Monika and I spent 3 nights down in Brisbane city.  We go there every year on the long weekend for the craft show.  We only spend about 6 hours @ the show and then the rest of the weekend we just have the best ever time just shopping, eating out, catching up with other friends we chat to online all year and have a great time just being ourselves.  No being a Mummy or a wifey.. no one needs us.. we just chill.  So awesome.. And it is a great time to just be YOU!! Monika and I have a very special closeness and we dont even need to talk all the time to each other when we are in the room.  We just love being together.  The first morning I heard her on the ipad and on the phone but kept just rolling over and falling back to sleep.  When I did look at the time the clock said 10:00am!!! I nearly died.  I jumped outta bed and said OMG I dont know how many times.!!!!!!!! But all she said to me... you needed your sleep.. You were so peaceful.  Now how good a friend is she ?? LOL
Here are a few pics of our wonderful time

Moni, Kim from Warwick and I out for dinner @ Siam Thai Restaurant Southbank

On arrival at the Chifley Hotel in the Queen Street Mall.. So awesome to be so close to everything.. Across the mall from the entrance of our hotel was the Myer Centre... Then just across the bridge and you are @ Southbank

Monika and her spunky big balls

A bonus while the Paper Craft show was on.... next door was the Book Fest.. OMG....... the best ever in the world Book Fest.  I purchased Ken and Corey 18 books in total.  None for me.. I scrap lol

Pool Boy Double Layout

When we were up in Port Douglas on holidays I was getting used to playing with my camera.  On holidays you seem to get more time to do these things.  I was snapping away while Corey was playing in the pool for ages.
Barbi over @ Daisy Chain Scrapbooks where I scrap every Friday night with all the lovely girls asked me to create a layout for the Brisbane PaperCraft Show.  Sadly the papers did not arrive in time to kit it up so they will now be sold at Daisys if anyone is keen to get their hands on one.

It is a very simple layout but I love the photos so I didn't want to take the focus off them.  I have used a few different elements.  I am loving using the hessian at the moment. Great colour for the wood grain paper in the back ground.

Thanks for dropping in..
Happy Scrapping

Week 19 Project Life

Well it doesnt take long to get behind with PL but it is fun when you get back to it.  Problem is when you have a little visitor for two weeks you cant seem to jam all the photos that you want to in to two page protectors.  That is why I am loving the inserts.  I am still waiting for a good bunch of page inserts all different sizes to come from Craft House NZ. Has been nearly 3 months and I could do with them right about now.
This week have have used the page protector with the small 3x3 square inserts so I can add a few extra photos of my time when my Mum was here from New Zealand.

Love the little inserts for busy weeks

Cant wait to get started on Week 20... What week are we up to?? I have not a clue.. I think I may be behind about 4 weeks :-( but will get there.
Have a great day.. Off to work I go now

Bring on the long weekend !!

This is my 3rd year in a row that my dear friend Monika and I have packed our bags and taken off for the long weekend and headed to Brisbane for The Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo which is held at the Brisbane and Exhibition Centre.  It is a fabulous fun weekend filled with shopping, inspiration, coffee, dinner out with girls, creative classes and packed with a whole lot more.
We stay 2 or 3 nights in the city so it is a short walk to Southbank where the convention is and where we tend to eat out most of the time.  Very excited as we leave the kids and husbands behind, pack our make up, hair dryers, crafty needs for down time in the hotel room and get set for some girly fun.
Make sure if you are going the the show that you call into the most awesome Daisy Chain Scrapbooks stand.  It is Stand No: 13.
There you will find my double layout kit there for sale.  Im very excited and honoured to have my work there for the weekend.  We have some very talented ladies over at Daisys... so be sure to go and check out the beautiful work created.

Here is a little peek at my layout.

One more sleep for me and I will be there.. I hope to walk into a lot of you girls I chat to online.. so if I miss you .. please sing out and say hi.

Project Life - Week 18

A little insert added of Corey

Life..... but not as we like it.
Corey did not say anything about this happening.  It must have happened the Friday @ school.  Daddy spotted it while they were in the shower.  Ken come to me stressing about what it was.. I was sure it was the symptoms of Meningococcal rash.  I said to Corey we have to straight away take you to the hospital to get it checked out.. I had no idea that it was anything else.  After him telling me it is ok and that it will go away.. I got a bit suspicious.  It took me 20 minutes to get it out of him what it actually was.  A Grade 7 boy (Corey is Grade 5) had bullied him and twisted his skin about 3 times on each side.  Corey and his mate were playing hand ball in the year 7 area as it was quieter and not so many boys playing.  This is sadly what he encountered.   He will never go to that area again.

I have notified the school and they are aware of what has happened.... Next time Mummy is stepping in.....

Finding it hard to get my macro pics focused ... not sure what I'm doing yet with my new camera.

Beautiful butterfly and bumble bee washing tape my gorgeous friend Monika bought back from Idaho with her two weeks ago.

The white painted man in the Queen Street Mall of Brisbane proposing to me with a ring in a box. So sweet.

 The double put together

And the beginning of week 19... to be continued .....

Thats all folks
