Celebrating her First Birthday - with the Cook Line

Hello to you all you.  We have had my husbands gorgeous little darling Grandaughter here on holidays with us for 3 weeks with her Mummy and Daddy.  She has just turned one and I have put this cute little 8x8 canvas together for her to put on her wall in her room.  I always like to use the thick canvases as I love the depth of them.
For this canvas I have used the totally super duper cute COOK LINE which is so versatile.

For the background I have used the Patchwork paper.  I have then added some frayed hesian I had in my stash of goodies as I love the texture blending in with the background paper.
I love how the pink polka dot Melody paper and checkered Miscellanea paper go so perfectly with Nevaeh's little outfit.

I used Tim Holtz Paper Rosette and made the main feature of the canvas and popped on a number 1 button. And to finish it off I have used twine on the bottom of the canvas for an extra texture. Also can you see the white Fancy Flocked Transparencies and the delicate white rubon I have used. These are stunning.
I thought the top banner was perfect to title this canvas CELEBRATE as we are celebrating her First birthday.  I have just added some of the very delicate Fundamentals Petite Alphabet stickers for the title. These are a gorgeous pink.

I hope I have given you a bit of inspiration to do up a lovely canvas for one of your rooms.  This honestly took me 3 hours from start to finish and it is a beautiful piece to put in a little girl or boys room.
Have a fantastic weekend and keep up that inspiration!!

Week 1 2013

Well now that we have packed up and come home from the beach I have been able to get my hands into my scrapping.  I have got most of my photos picked out for the next two weeks that I am already behind in.. just need to edit them and print out.

So here is my first week of Project Life for 2013

Im not really sure what works for me yet.. so I am going with this for now.  I have so many papers and journal tags that is hard to make a snap decision.
My first week of January was pretty well social with lots of exercise with my friend Tex and lunch and coffees in between working and then my Mandy girl come from Woodford where she had been slumming it for 9 days straight in that wicked heat.  I had her for a short 48 hours but had the most amazing time and belly laughed the whole time together.  I cannot wait for her to move down here so we can carry on where we left off 8 years ago when I left Mackay.

LEFT SIDE

RIGHT SIDE

So off to edit some pics to print out tomorrow hopefully if we are able to drive.. The roads are that unsafe that they have put out a warning to stay indoors unless urgent.  Our local Woolworths is now closed as they have no power due to trees on the roof.   As long as we are all unharmed and stay safe... Im happy to be having a crafty inside day. (while hubby is on the roof).
Ta ta for now

Cotton Tree

Here we are again on our little home away from home at Cotton Tree Caravan Park on the beach only 15 minutes from our home.  People think we are crazy coming here as it is so close to home but we love it here.  It feels like a normal holiday, we go home every few days and do a load of washing, hang it out, let it dry, clean the pool, do a few other chores and check the mail and then we are back in our caravan.  Love the lifestyle as it is so relaxing.  We have a great little community in our street and we all get together every second night or so for drinks.  Every Tuesday night we have a dinner night.  Last week it was for the men to cook and we all had to wear some sort of hat.  Its great.  We put all the dishes out on the table and we all help ourselves.  Sort of like Sizzler but WAY BETTER LOL

So for starters, her is my bed.  We have an expander caravan.  This means it is 16foot long but then it is about 20 foot when the bed ends are pushed out.  We have one double bed at each end of the caravan.  We sleep in seperate beds as I stay up and do some sort of art or blog etc on my laptop.  We are way more comfy like this.  Every morning we jump into bed with each other and have our cuddle LOL.  Notice my quilt on my bed I made last year :-) so nice to be using it now after all my hard work.

This is the other end.  The boys end.  Ken down the end and Corey sleeps in the middle bed or with me, or then with Ken another night.  This will definitely be his last year in this bed as his legs are too long now.  BTW it is fully air conditioned so the comfort in this heat is amazing.  You can actually get really lazy here .. but hey.. thats what holidays are all about right ??

And this is our gorgeous beach. Well this is the river side of Cotton Tree.  The other side is the ocean.  So its great.  The river is awesome as it is like floating in a big fat bath... lots of families and babies and lilos to float on.  These people in these vans here on the river side are here for life.. meaning these are their permanent sites each holidays.  They will not give them up unless they decide to never come back.   They have a lotto system for the next ones in.  Everyone is after these sites.  You can see why.

Our little street.  Thats our site the first on the left.

How cool is this.  This is a permanent all year round site.  These people have been living her for a number of years.  Their home.  But once permanent residents leave now.. they will never be replaced.  Council has changed the rules.. NO MORE.  Pretty cheap living if you ask me.  Living right on the beach for about $300 with no morgage.. no power fees, no water fees...

And another permanent resident.  Look how they deck out their site.  All air bond and built on rooms to their caravans.

This is the river side and it is beautiful.

And this is our little abode.. Ken pretending to be the tired out vacationer asleep like an old man lol

So that's it for me tonight.  Just wanted to share our wee holiday with you all.
Back to reality in a week... school, lunch boxes and school runs.. ohhh and back to good eating LOL
Have a great Sunday everyone

Happy Campers

Hi everyone.... Still in the holiday mode?? We are.  We have a house full of 8 people for 3 weeks. Talk about busy.... But good at the same time.
I wanted to share this layout with you that our son took of us.  This was our last photo taken in 2012.  Was just before midnight.  We were celebrating the coming 2013 on the beach with 40,000 others here in Queensland Australia.
I have created a  very clean fresh layout as I wanted my banners to pop on the page.  I love the colours as it feels very festive to me.  I also was pretty stoked when I come across this cool HAPPY CAMPERS tag. Perfect for us on this wonderful night.
I love creating different banners using different papers and making them different sizes.

And just a little close up for you. I love how the numbers POP on the page.  Actually looks a bit more American LOL than Aussie Aussie Aussie LOL  but I loved the colours together.

Thanks for stopping in and checking out or daily creations.  We have some amazingly talented ladies here on our Design Team who are pumped to inspire you. So pop on over to Ruby Rock-it home page and check out our yummy goodness.
That's it for me today.. I hope you have a wonderful weekend x

Life is Good / Feature Product: China Blue

This is one of my most favorite photos of my darling daughter on the left and her forever soul mate.  They had been parted for nearly one year due to us moving to another town.  This was a beautiful moment they had together when arriving at the airport.  We all had tears of joy in our eyes.
I have used the very lusious China Blue range for this layout.  It is simply striking and looks totally gorgeous with red and white as I have done below.
I have cut out the middle of the CB97- China Blue 12x12 Cardstock - Temple which left me with this stunning border.  I have then adhered it onto stark white cardstock for the clean and fresh effect.  Adding the red  CO48- Cook 12x12 Cardstock - Ephemera (SKU: 9312271028548) LIFE IS GOOD journal block, washi tape, sequins and ribbon make the page pop.  My girls are going to love this as I am going to adhere it onto a 12x12 thick canvas for them to hang on the wall.  It's a beautiful gift.

PaperHaus Sketch

When I come across this sketch I fell in love with the idea of a few photos.  I always love layouts using more than two photos so when I saw this challenge... I thought this is for me.
My hubby and I and son went to Fingal Heads in NSW for a 10 day downtime break in our caravan right on the beach.  Life cannot get much better when you are in a caravan right on the beach.. I think the most exercise I got was biking down to the little wee cafe on the water for my daily fix of a yummy cappuccino .
I have used a mixture of products in this layout.  This have been my favourite colour palette for a couple of months now.  I still cant get enough of it.  So mellow and fresh.

I love incorporating different textures to my pages.  And I am loving using Stayzon ink on my photos too lately.. Such a neat way for a bit of journaling.
Here is my take on the sketch.. I hope you like it.

So pop over to PaperHaus and take a look at the sketch designed by Julianne McKenna herself.
After a fun Saturday off for me.. it's time to hit the sack ready for another great day tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping in
