Update on life

I know we are all busy at the moment.. crazy time of our lives.. the shopping centres are full to the rim, people getting angry in car parks and in shops.. impatient and intolerant of each other.. but please remember to be kind to the person standing next to you or whip is serving you as they are no doubt feeling just like you too.  I see so many cranky rude people and it is really quiet easy to be quiet and polite.  After a long day the other day and we finally got a decent dose of rain… I walked into our home and my husband and son had poured me a warm magnesium salt bath with candle and a iced cold beverage for me to sip on while chilling out..
Bless their cotton socks as we haven't had rain for so long and we are very water conscious as we are on tank water.. so when I got home it was pure bliss for this Mumma.

This week was my sons last week of school.. He is in Year 6 next year.  Time goes so fast I find it hard to keep up.  Hard to believe its only 3 weeks til Christmas Day. He and Daddy have gone away for a week in their camper van.. They have gone out bush as they love the off road camping.  I am still working hard as it is our busiest time in retail right now.

I cannot believe that at the beginning of the year the shoes I bought him were size 6.  In September I bought him another pair but this time they were a huge size 9.  I nearly died.  He is only 10 and he is growing like a green bean.  On the other hand he is still wearing the same school shorts and school shirts that we bought him 3 years ago.     He is looking forward to new uniforms for 2014 LOL

I have been frantically making Christmas cards these past few weeks.  I have been commissioned to make 40 for one person and another 20 for another.  I am going to make some pretty baubles too tomorrow night.. well that is the plan.  Then off to Brisbane for a night and two days with my BFF.  Tuesday night we are all meeting up (my other BFF) in Brisbane for a birthday dinner for me. I turn another year younger on Tuesday.  Whats another number right?? As long as we all have a great time together and we always do so I am pretty exited.
So til next time.. keep happy and I hope you are all prepared and ready for Christmas.  If you are not yet.. you still have 3 weeks to go.
Take care

Traditions…. LPS December Challenge!!!!!!!!!

This month over at Life Paper Scrapbook our challenge is to create a Project Life page including TRADITIONS we have in our lives.  I love traditions.. they always bring back beautiful memories and I always look forward to the next one.
We have a few in our lives but I have narrowed it down to a few I have shared with you today.

Yummmmo…  this is our yummy banana cake that has been our favourite recipe in our family for years.. My Nana and then Mum made it for years… It is out of our New Zealand Edmonds Cook Book.  This is the book we used to cook out of at cooking classes at school.  The kids are still using this book at school in 2013.  It is moist, tasty and I make lemon and orange rind icing for the top.

My title… It's so good to scrap out of your weekly square…. makes you scrap other important things in life.

I love love love the times when we go back to New Zealand. This is at a place called Mt Maunganui.  We spend every summer as kids here for 15 years in the same caravan park in our caravan.  When we go back home (Mum still lives only 30 min away from here) we alway go to the Mount and have fish and chips and the whopping generous New Zealand Ice creams on my favourite beach.  Double ice creams are only about $2 and you get the most awesome NZ flavours.  NZ beats anywhere in the world with our ice cream flavours.  We always have this occasion with my cousins and nephews and nieces.  This to me is priceless.

Every NYE we hit the beach and get out and enjoy the freedom we have in Australia.. My hubby is a Life Saver so we all love the beach.  It is normally packed with families playing with their new water toys and just chillaxing after a hectic wind up to Christmas Day.  I love it here.. Never ever want to leave.

Our gorgeous son Corey is very passionate about being part of the Anzac March Parade each year.  We take him to Buderim and he is the most proudest at this moment.  He truly has a deep heart this kid. Age 10

I hope you can read my journalling… He is a passionate dedicated rock my husband.. Love him to bits.

This month over @ Life Paper Scrapbook our November Challenge is all about Selfies... Yes.. that's right.. Sounds easy doesnt it.. Well it is.  I hope you have taken the time out to give this months challenge a go.  If you haven't yet… you still have time.
Make sure you pop over to Life Paper Scrapbook blog and check out some of the amazing work our designers have put together for this challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge for this month anyway.. I hope you like it. I loved putting this together.. Instead of only taking selfless of myself… I also incorporated photos of things that are important to me.. Like Family, my husband, my exercise, my Canon 600D, the beach, the hearts I have been collecting for a few years, and of course my scrapping.  It has pretty well summed me and my life up in just two pages.. well a light sum up lol

I have just received this AWESOME Simple Stories Say Cheese collection … OMG I am loving it.  Below is the left hand side of my page

Below is the right hand side of my page

My daughter… my love… my best friend

November and so close to Christmas

It just hit me last night that there are only about 35 days to go til Christmas and then it is all over for another 12 months.  I am prepared and sorted.. I have nearly done all my Christmas cards.. I just have to take the photo to attach to the card, buy a couple more special gifts and that is me done.  We are having a quiet Christmas this year.  My hubby is on Beach Patrol and I respect that as he did last year as well.  No one really puts their hand up yet is can be a very busy day of the year on the beach.  He always asks me first if I mind.. I dont.  Last year Corey and I spend half the shift with him down on the beach and we will again this year.  At least we are still together and loving the sun and the waves.

I am pretty happy to say that I am quickly catching up with my Project Life.  Last night I edited and printed out 3 weeks of photos and slotted them in their hidey holes.  It took me 7 months to work out this is a perfect way for me to be more organised.  Normally I will sit there at the computer editing one picture and then printing and then scrapping it.. I am the slowest scrapper to start with.  Doing it this way makes me procrastinate even more.. Hopeless.!!!!  So tonight I am ready to scrap my Week 43.  excited much..!!

Corey is looking forward to a break but wishes he could at the same time skip the holiday and start Year 6.  He is so excited to be starting year 6 and not to mention they get a new laptop for the year.  He seems to be keeping up with school and having no major issues or struggles.. Thats just awesome in our home.

Ok I am just going to share my last few pages and journal cards with you..

I dig these caravans below.. perfect for me.. I love caravans LOL

Lots of different papers and embellishments used here.. as always.. love to mix up my collections and use lots of colour..
I will be glad to put these two albums in the lounge in January for friends and family to read over… but starting the next one.. well we don't get a holiday do we.. December 31 into January 1st 2014.  I cannot believe I am already thinking about my 2014 title page lol.. OMG who does that !!??
That's all for today.. Thank you for stopping in and having a read of my blog..

Request for Support: A Letter from The Editor.

Hello Dear Reader,

Firstly thank you so much for your support of LPS over the last year, it has meant so much to me. When I first came up with the idea in January this year I had no idea how the magazine would grow.
The first issue in March received just over 26,000 views in the three months before the next issue was released. The most recent issue received over 200,000 views in the first week of its release which is absolutely staggering growth for something that was just a bit of fun.

I adore putting the magazine together and being inspired by all the wonderful work that you all send in. I try to include as much as possible because there is so much talent out there and I want people to see it and draw inspiration from it. Scrapbooking is many things to many people but it is also a universal language that brings many people together through blogs, forums and magazines like ours.

As I mentioned before, LPS was initially just for fun but as it has grown it has also taken a lot more time to put together, it is now a full time job and as it is a free publication I am not in a position to hire and pay staff let alone any of the overheads that are involved in the operation. I would love to continue releasing the magazine as a free resource available to everyone in the coming year but as the workload continues to increase without funds to support the operation it seems unlikely that this will be possible. This is where I would like to ask for your assistance in some fund raising...

How you can help:
AUSTRALIAN READERS: You can support LPS by buying kits and supplies from theLife.Paper.Scrapbook. Shop. This shop was set up specifically for the purpose of keeping the magazine going. We have a small selection of items to choose from including our Summer Scrapbook Kit as well as additional embellishments, stamps, mists and more. If you purchase prior to 30 November use the code NOV10 to receive 10% off your entire order. (Shipping is charged at package rates. For items that can be sent as a letter I will refund the postage difference.)
INTERNATIONAL READERS: You can support us by buying our exclusive Day To Day Project Kit from our Big Cartel site. This kit can be sent anywhere in the world due to it's weight and flatness. The kit has been reduced from AU$32.00 to AU$25.00. This kit is absolutely packed to the brim and is worth over $60 retail.
ADVERTISING: If you are a manufacturer, own a small crafting business or Etsy site we offer advertising in each issue to cater for every budget. We are currently offering 50% off for advertisments placed in the December issue. For more information email me at: lifepaperscrapbook(at)gmail(dot)com

DONATE: If you would like to donate a small amount to continue the publication of Life.Paper.Scrapbook. Magazine for free you can do so via PayPal.

Once again, thank you so much for your support over the last 10 months and for taking the time to read this letter.
Much Love,
