Scrap for Charity

Well I have had a fantastic weekend. I scrapped on Friday night at Daisys... this is our Scrap n Chat night and I am an absolute regular on Friday nights. I so look forward to the end of the week after working, running around being a Mum, Wife, worker and housekeeper... this is the time of the week that it is MY TIME!!
Barbie had a Scrap for Charity on Saturday in the store beginning at 10am going through until 10pm. I did not put my name down as normally the weekends are treasured by me for family time. My husband and I are so busy during the week... this works out to be our down time and family time. But sadly :-)) my husband had to go to Brisbane to look at a boat so I was keeping fingers crossed that he would take our son too. Well it worked out that he did take him, so trying not to show my excitement I jumped out of bed and said.. "Well I might just slip on over to the Charity scrap". I got there at 10am and my husband was back from Brisbane at 12pm... woooopsie.. heheheheh.. They had a great day together though so it was good all round.
I managed to get 2 layouts completed. Really happy with them. Won't be able to post them just yet as they are for A2Z who I design for and the scraplets I used have not yet been released so in a couple of weeks. Keep your eyes open.
Today has been a great LAZY day. I slept in til 9.30am, had a late breaky, come back to bed (well didn't actually get in it) and Ken and I watched Harry Potter with Corey. So I was happy to be lazy all over again.
Enjoying the rain and the wind. Loving it after all this horrid heat. I'm just about over it. Bring on Autumn but it hads to stay Autumn. Love the in between time of the year.
I hope you have had a great weekend where ever you are.
That's all for now..

AUSTRALIA DAY 2010

On Australia Day 2010, thousands of Aussies will hit the beach to flog their neighbouring States in the fifth Annual Havaianas Thong Challenge World Record attempt.

On Tuesday, 26 January 2010, bring your friends, family and your spirit of competition along to the Havaianas Thong Challenge. Be a part of a sandsational day of flip-flopping around in the water, lapping up the beautiful Australian sunshine.

We couldn't believe the bodies and the umbrellas on the beach when we got to Mooloolaba Beach at 7.45am Australia Day. What a sight to see. Everyone was in full Aussie spirits... wherever you looked there were Aussie flags, banners, tattoos, face and body painting, hats, and of course the giant HAVAIANA THONG!!

This is my Corey and he had the best time body surfing the waves. He cannot get enough of that water. There was a slight rip in the water which made me a bit weary. Always so much more cautious when there are rips out there.

LAW ABIDING CITIZEN

Law Abiding Citizen is the movie to see. I saw it last night with a girlfriend and we were on the edges of our seats. We won the tickets to the Premier so we just arrived without knowing anything about the movie. I don't normally do these sort of movies but I am so glad I went because it was fantastic.
Gerard Butler is from Scotland and he is one of my favorite actors. He can play the funny & loving The Ugly Truth), or even the nasty evil as shown in this movie.
This movie is mind blowing and a must see!!

See ya

MY SPACE

I am so fortunate to have my own scrapping room and to be honest ... it is my absolute haven here at home.. well one of them anyway. I sneak in here during the day on the weekends and have a bit of a ponder on my laptop or just sit and look at all my scrapping goodies. My mind then gets thinking about what I am going to create next... until the door opens and someone asks me "What's for dinner tonight"... It's really like .... ohh ok, back to reality. I don't think compared to a lot of girls I know, I don't have a mass amount of scrapbooking goodies, but I love what I have. I think if I had too much I would get lost with it all and forget to use some of it then be not so keen on it later on. I enjoy every buying fresh new exciting paper each and every Friday nights at our Scrap after dark at Daisy Chain Scrapbooks in Nambour. That is exciting for me. In my room, well it was initially meant to be the guests bedroom as it has an ensuite in here, but I did not want to share my scrapping room with anyone especially a Queen size bed, so I have a King single bed in here incase we get a single person to stop the night, I have my printer, Radio/CD player, and all my goodies. Oh lets not forget the air conditioning.. Which is an absolute must for me... Loooove it!! So here is MY SPACE X Happy Scrapping Everyone!! Love Moonie x

Martha Stewart Punches

Every week when I turn up at my local Scrap booking store on a Friday night to do our regular fun scrap all night, I am just so amazed to see the new beautiful papers, embellishments etc that have been created. It is just awesome to see so many new beautiful printed papers that are being released each and every week and yet they are all so different form the the ones already out there!! I can only imagine the awesome talented creative people out there that do this for us scrapbookers to recreate in our own way.
What I have been loving lately are Martha Stewarts punches. They are just simply devine and I could never get sick of using them for cards or my layouts. The ideas are endless. They are a great punch to create cute shapes for decorating cards, photo mats, and scrapbook pages. They can stand in your tote upright for easy access and storage. I used the Scallop Lace Heart Punch on a LO on Friday night and it so delicate it looks good enough to eat. Well maybe if it was chocolate!! :-)

Photos of my Princess

Danielle and her friend went out for a photo shoot the other day and Dani decided to get some funshots in her Graduation dress she wore last year. I am loving the ideas she had and I just love the colors. I am soo going to miss this girl when she goes up North. She has a Canon SD450 and is loving playing with it and using her new lenses. I'm way to intimidated by those bigger cameras but she has a real talent and I hope she goes a long way with her photography xx
Luv you my best girl x

Scrap with V January Sketch Challenge

Fantastic sketch challenge over at Scrap with V this month, thanks for a fantastic challenge Annette (Millie).

Beautiful Basic Grey Sugar Rush Range

This is the first time I have used this creative PP that is at the top of this layout. I loved it so much I had to have it, but when I went to put it together I had a lot of difficulty as it was harder to create than what I thought... but after many coffees and many hours I got pulled it off and I am very happy with the end result.
This is my best friend who still lives up north. We met 14 years ago at the local pool. Our girls were 4 and 5 yrs old. We got chatting as we are both gas baggers and we have been besties ever since. We have shared 14 years of ups and downs, laughter and tears, we bought each others second children into this world together and we have a bond that will never be broken..... Love you Mandy girl xxx

Quote of the Day

What does 2010 have instore for you?

Well here we are .... another year in front of us and I like you no doubt are hoping all is going to be great for this year. We have a couple of trips planned. One to Singapore in March and hopefully another one somewhere else towards the end of the year. In between that we want to get a few short 4 day trips in somewhere in our caravan. I am busting to do this as my husband is wanting to sell the caravan which we bought brand new last year and swap it for a boat :-( I'm so not the boating girl.. unless you take me out to Whitehaven Beach up in the Whitsundays and drop me off on the beach for the day. I love going somewhere random in the caravan and it only takes about half an hour to set it up and it is bliss after that!!
Anyway, I suppose I am not looking forward to my boy going backto school as I love the laziness of the school holidays. We are off to the beach and swimming most days, watching DVDs up later at night together, making Leggo together, he even scraps with me which is bliss... such a beautiful time together as I tell him "Scrapping honey is a lovely quiet time" and as long as he is with me he just gets so involved and creative..... and enjoys it just like me.
My Daughter who is 19 in April is leaving me and moving up North. I am dreading this soo much as she has been my soul mate for 19 years. She desperately misses her friends back up north and has not really gelled down here so I have to let her spread her wee wings and fly.. I know she will come back.
I am hoping to get on to another Design Team this year. I applied for my first only 3 months ago and got accepted so I was wrapped. I am totally dedicated to this love of Scrapbooking and I can only keep going and hopefully achieve more. I am finding friends all over the world through blogs and I love catching up with them all and reading their life stories. At the end of the day we are all just girls being girls and creating our beautiful creative sides.
Well on this note my freinds, I need to close now and go and paint a canvas for a gift.
Nigh Night all

Loove this photo that she took of herself.

Two of my MUST HAVES!

Crackle Accents and Glossy Accents

Glossy Accents is a 3-Dimensional, water-based clear gloss medium. Use to accent, brighten dimensionalize and magnify distinct areas on any scrapbook page album cover, rubber stamped image, paper craft or home decor project. Place Glossy Accents under embellishments to make them stick. Use on top to protect and glossify! Acid free and non-toxic.

Want a natural crackled finish instead? Use Crackle Accents to create an aged, crackled effect on paper crafts, stickers, die cuts, clip art and more! Crackle Accents is a 3-dimensional, one-step crackle medium. It dries to a cracked, clear gloss finish and it’s so easy to use!
